INTRODUCTION:
For the introduction, I will provide a detailed example of a professional athlete (Mark McGuire for instance) who was found guilty of using performance-enhancing drugs. I would show how this act is morally unjustified and the unfair edge that he gained from doing so. Performance-enhancing drugs should be eliminated from all professional sports organizations due to their negative effects on an athlete's health and the unfair advantages that they offer.
OUTLINE:
My first major point (as follows in thesis) would be the detrimental effects steroids have on one's health. I woulde explain each and every problem with an in-depth analysis that they cause and, adversely, I would make a comparison beetween the health of an athlete who is completely natural to one who has abused steroids.
Next, I would entertain the second portion of my thesis by providing an analysis on the advantages that an athlete who uses steroids gains and how those advantages are not available to a morally justified athlete who doesn't use performance-enhancing drugs.
Lastly, I would evoke the persuasive aspect of my thesis by investigating how performance-enhancing drugs should be completely eliminated from all sports. This would increase the health and safety of the athletes as well as provide a level playing field in which all participants have an equal opportunity to succeed against others.
--- Throughout my paper, I would interject multiple examples of specific athletes who have used some sort of steroid and the negative outcomes of said act.---
CONCLUSION:
In conclusion, I would summarize the main points of my paper by "tieing" into the introduction and reminding the reader that all performance-enhancing drugs should be eliminated from sports completely as they are terrible for the health and safety of the athlete who uses them as well as they provide unfair advantages and disturb the level playing field.
